Growing Your List with Signup Forms

Written by Juan

List Growth is a new area of your TxtCart dashboard for collecting new subscribers directly from your storefront — no separate app, and no code required on your theme.

Where to find it

Open List Growth in the left sidebar to expand it, then click Signup Forms. Keywords and QR Codes sit alongside it in the same sidebar group, as other ways visitors can join your list.

Is TxtCart's signup embed live on your storefront?

If TxtCart's signup embed isn't detected on your storefront yet, a banner at the top of the Signup Forms page says so and links straight to your theme editor to turn it on. Once it's detected, the banner goes away — there's nothing to check back on. A separate banner appears instead if your signups are ever paused because a daily safety limit was reached; contact support to review and resume.

Creating a form

Click Create form, give your form a name, and you'll land in a short creation wizard:

  1. Template — start from a ready-made layout.

  2. Customize theme — colors, fonts, corner radius and button/input styles, following your brand by default or customized just for this form.

  3. Logo — upload an image, pick one from your library, or import your Shopify brand logo.

  4. Floating button — the small button that invites a visitor to open your form (position, label, colors), or turn it off entirely.

  5. Engagement — the experience inside the form.

  6. Collection — turn email and/or SMS collection on, choose single or double opt-in for SMS, and set your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links.

  7. Reward — offer a static discount code (the same code for every subscriber), a unique code minted per subscriber, or no discount at all.

  8. Triggers — when the popup opens: after a time delay, on exit intent, after scrolling, or on your own custom condition.

Clicking Finish saves your form as a draft and opens the full editor, where you can keep refining it before you publish.

The form editor

The editor shows your form's steps as pills across the top, with a live preview on the right rendered by the same engine your storefront uses — what you see is what your visitors will see. On the left, switch between the Elements panel (add, remove, reorder and nest elements by dragging them in the tree, or drop them directly onto the preview) and the Theme panel (your form's colors, fonts and styles).

Click any element to edit it in the inspector on the right: its content, style, size, and — for buttons, inputs and similar elements — how it behaves in different states like hover or focus. Use Edit for: All screens / Desktop to make a change that only applies on larger screens.

Other things worth knowing:

  • Undo and redo (the arrows in the header, or the usual keyboard shortcuts) step back through your edits.

  • Preview opens your storefront in a new tab showing your saved draft, so you can see it in context before publishing.

  • Click the Display rules pill at the start of the step bar, then select the Targeting tab to control who sees the popup and when (conditions, an optional schedule, and whether to show it to subscribers you already have).

  • The Share control in the top bar lets you turn your form into a shareable hosted page, and copy its link.

Publishing and managing your forms

From the Signup Forms list, each form's row menu lets you Publish, Pause, Resume, Unpublish, Archive or Duplicate it. The list also shows each form's status, how many people have submitted it, and — above the table — metric cards for new subscribers, revenue generated, and opt-in rate, each compared to the previous period.

Why this is useful

Before List Growth, there was no built-in way to grow your subscriber list from your own storefront — you needed a separate app, or you were limited to subscribers who opted in at checkout. Now you can design, target and publish your own pop-up forms, QR codes and opt-in keywords right from TxtCart, and see exactly how each one is performing alongside the rest of your subscriber growth.
