Why TxtCart Needs Collaborator Access

Understand what Collaborator Access is, why we request it, and exactly which permissions are needed

Written by Roohul Shah

What is Collaborator Access?

Collaborator access lets you grant a third party access to your store while controlling their permissions, so you can manage exactly what they can and cannot see.

Why We Ask for Collaborator Access

We request collaborator access because it allows our team to see your store and TxtCart app directly, rather than relying solely on what you describe to us. This means we can diagnose issues faster, spot things that might be easy to miss, and give you more accurate, hands-on support. Without it, we're limited in what we can do for you.

This access allows our team to:

  • Investigate and resolve issues quickly: Collaborator access allows us to see exactly what you are seeing and troubleshoot problems faster, without the back-and-forth guesswork.

  • Implement solutions on your behalf: Our team can directly edit and create flows and campaigns, complete your onboarding, and make necessary changes without requiring you to do the heavy lifting.

  • Proactively optimize your results: Our team can review your performance data and identify improvement opportunities to ensure your SMS strategy is delivering the best results possible.

Tip: We only request the minimum access needed to support you. No unnecessary permissions are ever requested.

What Permissions We Request and Why We Request Them

When you grant collaborator access, you will see a list of permissions to approve. Here is exactly what we ask for and why each one matters.

1. General

Permission

Why We Need It

Gives us a high-level view of your store's activity so we can understand your overall performance at a glance.

Orders

Allows us to view order data so we can connect SMS activity to purchases and measure recovery performance accurately.

Manage Abandoned Checkouts

This is core to TxtCart. We need to read abandoned checkout data to trigger recovery messages at the right time.

2. Administration

How to approve collaborator access?

To approve the request from your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users. Then:

  1. On the Users index page, click the Requests status to filter open collaborator requests.

  2. Click on TxtCart's collaborator request (it should say "Pending" next to it).

  3. The collaborator request should come from kyle@txtcartapp.com.

  4. Click the black Accept Request button.

When you approve the request, please do so with the default permissions. This ensures we have the level of access required to assist you with any app-related concerns.

TxtCart collaborator access requests will come from kyle@txtcartapp.com. If you'd like to validate whether a collaborator access request was sent by us, please contact our support team via live chat or at support@txtcart.ai.
