What's an Abandoned Cart Link?
An abandoned cart link is a special URL that takes your customers directly back to their shopping cart so they can complete their purchase.
How It Works
When a customer adds items to their cart but doesn't complete their purchase, you can send them a text message with a link that brings them right back to where they left off, no need to search for products again or add them to their shopping cart.
How to Add an Abandoned Cart Link to Your Flow Message
Step 1: Open your Flow Builder in TxtCart.
Step 2: Write your message where you want the cart link to appear.
Step 3: Click the Link Icon in the message editor. This opens the Add a Trackable Link window — each recipient gets their own short link, so you can track clicks per message.
Step 4: Open the Link type dropdown and select Abandoned Cart, then click Save to insert the link.
Step 5: Save your message.
Step 6: Click the three dots at the top, then select See version history.
Step 7: Activate the new version.
That's it! TxtCart will automatically add the abandoned cart link when the message is sent to your customer.
Important Note: Abandoned Cart links are only available on the "Added to Cart" Flow Trigger.
If you need to add an abandoned cart link to a checkout, use the "Checkout Started trigger" and select "Abandoned Checkout" in the Link type options instead.
If you send yourself a Test Message, the abandoned cart link might contain placeholder text. Don't worry, this is normal!
Test messages aren't triggered by real shopping activity, so there's no actual cart to link to. When a real customer abandons their cart, they'll receive a working link that takes them straight to checkout.
