For Abandoned Checkout messages to be sent, customers must be compliant SMS subscribers for your store. This means they must have properly opted in to receive marketing messages from your brand.
Additionally, an approved Toll-Free Number (TFN) is required to send messages. TxtCart merchants must ensure their TFN is approved. You can check your TFN’s verification status at any time by going to Account Details > Account Settings > Messaging. Once your TFN has been approved, its status will display as Verified.
For a Checkout Abandonment message to be sent, all of the following conditions must be met:
The customer must check the "Text me with news and offers" box during checkout and provide their phone number. This opt-in behavior can be configured in your Compliance Settings.
The customer’s phone number must be within the service area of one of your approved TFNs.
The customer must then abandon their checkout. Once these conditions are met, the Checkout Abandonment flow will trigger and send the customer a message 20 minutes after they abandon the checkout.
Important Notes:
SMS consent is required. Abandoned checkout messages cannot be sent without proper SMS opt-in.
Opt-in must occur during the checkout process.
Imported subscribers are not eligible. Subscribers added through third-party tools or manual uploads will not receive Checkout Abandonment messages unless they provide consent through the standard checkout process.
