Do you have an SMS subscriber list that you would like to upload to your TxtCart?

So you've exported your SMS Subscriber list from your previous SMS Platform and you're ready to upload to TxtCart and begin your SMS Marketing program. Below we'll go over the steps needed to get up and running.

Pssst! If you have SMS subscribers in your Shopify store, they'll automatically sync to TxtCart when you first open the app.

Step 1:

Navigate to Audience > List & Segments tab> Click "+ Create New" at the top right section of your screen > Click "Create List"

Step 2:

Select New List and give your list a name

Step 3: Add your collection details

Choose how you collected consent for this list (for example, a website signup form, in-store/paper signup, or another method with a short description), the date range you collected it in, and, if you have one, a screenshot of your collection method. A collection date can't be set in the future.

Step 4: Review and acknowledge

You'll see the current consent acknowledgement text in full. Read it over, then check the box confirming it before continuing - this box is unchecked every time, even if you've imported a list before, so it's worth a quick re-read when the wording changes.

Step 5: Upload your file

Upload your .CSV file. Files up to 100 MB are supported, which comfortably covers lists in the hundreds of thousands of rows.

Step 6: We'll check it for you

Your file is checked and processed automatically, usually within a few minutes even for a very large list - no need to keep this window open or wait around. You'll see the counts (rows to add, already subscribed, opted out, invalid) as soon as they're ready, and the list's subscriber count on the Lists & Segments page updates on its own once processing finishes.

Important Note:

Please ensure to upload your subscriber list without any errors. Before importing, verify that:

  1. All subscribers have opted-in for SMS - Only include contacts who have given explicit consent to receive SMS messages

  2. Every phone number includes its country code - for example, +1 for a US or Canadian number. An 11-digit number starting with a bare 1 (no +) is also accepted, but any other number without a recognizable country code will be rejected rather than guessed

  3. Your collection date range is accurate and not in the future - a future date will be rejected
