How to Disable AI Responses

Overview

TxtCart's AI Agent is designed to engage your customers, answer their questions, and drive conversions, all without you having to think about it.

The AI Agent automatically responds to customer messages, but you can turn it off anytime, either across your entire account or just for a specific flow.

You have two ways to disable AI responses:

  • Account level: turns off AI everywhere, for all flows and conversations

  • Flow level: turns off AI for one specific flow only


Why Disable your AI Agent?

TxtCart's AI Agent is enabled by default, but you can turn it off at any point. There are a few reasons why you might want to do this:

  • You prefer human agents to handle customer replies.

  • You want full control over every response sent to customers.

  • You only need one-way messaging with no inbound replies.

  • You use static, keyword-based auto-replies instead.

  • You want to avoid AI Resolution charges.


How to Disable AI at the Account Level

Use this if you want to stop AI responses across your entire TxtCart account, including all flows and campaigns.

  1. Go to your TxtCart Dashboard

  2. Click Account Details from the left-hand menu

  3. Open Account Settings

  4. Click on the Messaging tab

  5. Scroll down to AI Response Settings

  6. Choose Disabled from the drop-down

  7. Hit Save Settings at the top of the page

This will disable AI responses across all flows and conversations on your account.


How to Disable AI at the Flow Level

Use this if you only want to turn off AI for a specific flow.

  1. Go to the Flows home screen

  2. Select the flow you want to update

  3. Click Edit Flow

  4. Hit Configure Agent at the top of the editor

  5. Select Set AI Response

  6. Choose Disable from the dropdown

  7. Save your changes

If you disable AI at the account level, it will override any flow-level AI settings. Make sure you're choosing the right level before saving.
