TxtCart uses Shopify as its payment processor. This means that when you sign up for a paid plan, you do so through the Shopify payment system. When charges are incurred (e.g., your subscription fee becomes active), your TxtCart bill is sent to Shopify, which then forwards it to you.
When you pay your bill, the payment goes to Shopify first, and Shopify sends it to us.
Likewise, when a refund is issued, it goes through the Shopify payment system and the money is returned to your default Shopify payment method (e.g., your credit card).
What's that $30,000 usage limit about?
Unlike other apps that have no usage limit at all, Shopify requires app developers like TxtCart to stay below a maximum spending threshold. In our case, that limit is $30,000 USD every 30 days.
This does not mean you will be billed anywhere close to that amount. It simply means that even if you somehow reached that figure, Shopify won't allow us to bill you past that amount. Think of it as the ceiling we're allowed to bill.
This gives merchants like you better control over how much you spend.
Why is the limit $30,000?
TxtCart serves large and enterprise-level customers, some of whom send thousands of texts per day and can go through their usage allowances quickly.
The $30,000 threshold is the point at which most customers can operate comfortably without hitting any restrictions.
This limit applies equally to all customers and is not set on a per-store basis.
How can I reduce the usage limit?
The usage limit is a Shopify feature. As currently designed, customers can increase the limit on their own but cannot decrease it directly.
To lower your app usage limit, you would need to contact Shopify Support and request that they adjust it on your behalf.
What happens if I exceed my usage limit?
The usage limit resets every 30 days. If you hit the cap before the 30-day period is over, your excess usage will roll over to your next bill.
If you're repeatedly hitting your usage limits on Shopify, you can increase this limit from your Shopify admin directly.
Your Shopify usage limit is a Shopify feature. The TxtCart support team is not able to reduce this limit for you. To do so, you will need to contact Shopify Support directly.
